Short description

Discover Marlera, one of Istria’s last untouched coastal landscapes. On this guided walk, explore wild nature, a historic lighthouse, and the story of Punta Greca — the southernmost vineyard in Istria, where sea, wind, and soil create a truly unique wine.

Long description

Step into one of Istria’s hidden coastal gems — the Marlera peninsula, where untouched nature, open horizons, and deep silence create a truly unique experience.
Located on the southeastern edge of Istria, in Ližnjan, Marlera offers a different side of the peninsula — far from crowds and mass tourism. Here, rugged coastline, red Istrian soil, Mediterranean vegetation, and endless sea views come together in perfect harmony.
As we walk along scenic trails, you’ll discover a landscape shaped by both nature and human presence. Fields of local crops, vineyards touched by sea salt, and dry paths reveal a long history of coexistence between people and land.
At the edge of the peninsula stands the iconic Marlera Lighthouse, built in 1880. For over a century, its light has guided ships through the North Adriatic sea. The walk continues through fragrant Mediterranean vegetation, where broom plants bloom in golden colors and tell a story of resilience and traditional use. A special place of this experience is Punta Greca — the southernmost vineyard in Istria. Here, you’ll learn how extreme natural conditions — wind, salt, sun, and unique soil composition — shape one of Croatia’s most exclusive wines.
You will discover the philosophy behind this wine: low yields, manual harvest, and deep respect for the land. The result is a rare Merlot, produced only in limited quantities, reflecting the true character of its environment.
This is walk is an immersive journey through landscape, culture, and sensory experience. A chance to slow down, breathe, and connect with the wild, authentic side of Istria. In summer you have the opportunity to swim in a bay touched only by nature.
