Step away from the lively streets of Rovinj and enter a completely different world — the peaceful green oasis of Golden Cape, also known as Punta Corrente. Located just a short walk from the city center, this protected park forest is one of the most beautiful natural areas in western Istria. Covering over 50 hectares, it offers a unique blend of wild coastal scenery, carefully designed landscapes, and rich history.
On this relaxed and easy circular walk, you’ll explore scenic coastal paths, hidden bays, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Adriatic Sea and Rovinj archipelago. Along the way, you’ll discover how this seemingly natural forest is actually the result of an ambitious vision of Georg von Hütterott. As we walk, you’ll encounter a fascinating mix of native Mediterranean plants and exotic species brought from distant continents. Every part of the park tells a story of design and harmony. We’ll visit the old quarry of Montauro, a scenic viewpoint and climbing spot. You’ll also see traces of the former estate — including historic structures, the former stable of the Hütterott family, and hidden details that reveal the park’s layered past.
